The city of Port Arthur is celebrating Parks and Recreation Month with an event for the whole family.

Game On is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the downtown pavilion, 500 Procter St.

Johnny Brown, recreation coordinator, said they are hoping to see about 200 people show up.

Organizers “got real creative” when planning the summertime event, Brown said. There will be life-sized games like Connect 4, Jenga and Tic Tac Toe.

“We hope people get out to participate. It’s going to be fun,” Brown said. “This won’t be our last event. We will do more.”

There will also be free food such as barbecue links, drinks and chips and musical entertainment.
