Elton Hayes Sr., died three days after his 93rd birthday on July 14, 2019.

He was born in Evergreen, LA, and later moved to Port Arthur where he lived the remainder of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents Romus Hayes and Sadie Goudeau-Johnson; and stepfather,
Stanford Johnson; his first wife for over 50 years, Marion Hartman Hayes; his second wife of six years, Lois Castille Hayes; brothers James and Jesse Johnson; and grandson Elton Craig Lofton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Thomas Boulevard Church of Christ, Port Arthur, TX, Bro. Frank Hamilton, officiating.

Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Hayes was a life-long member and faithful servant of the Thomas Boulevard Church of Christ.

He was a boilermaker at the Gulf Oil Refinery for over thirty-five years until his retirement.

He was also a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife of nearly ten years, Mildred Asbury Hayes; son Elton Hayes Jr. (Marilyn), Stafford, TX; daughters: Dianne Hayes Martin (Maurice), Port Arthur; Patricia Hayes Hiller (Austin); and Brenda Dugat (Wesley), Houston; step-daughter: Debora Asbury-Scott (Raymond), Port Arthur; step-son: Gerald Asbury (Gerleane), Houston; grandchildren: Archie Lofton III (Cynthia), Port Arthur; Crystal Boudreaux (Dale), Beaumont; Stephen D. Anderson (Nicole), Doha, Qatar; Dr. Angela Anderson Carollo (Darren), Dallas; Clinton Anderson, Jr. (Buda); Anthony A. Anderson (Kyle); Jaysa Hayes Richards (Jerel), Houston; Chelsye Hayes Baugh (Kenneth), Houston; James Michael Jackson, Jr. (Houston); Tamara Monique Hicks (Houston); Weslyn Dugat (Houston); Hollye Williams  (Baton Rouge, LA); and a host of great grandchildren, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
