Hit-and-run leaves bicyclist in hospital

A bicyclist was critically injured after he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene around 12:35 a.m. Friday.

The hit-and-run happened at Memorial Boulevard and 25th Street and left the victim, identified as Ray Jones, 32, of Port Arthur, in critical condition but he is expected to make a full recovery, a news release from Port Arthur Police Department said.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be an unknown black SUV with unknown damage.

Members of the Advanced Accident Investigation Team and the Criminal Investigations Division were summoned to the scene to investigate the crash which remained under investigation Friday.
