As part of the greatest generation to live, Paul served in World War II as a Marine Corps Veteran in the Philippines. After the war he graduated on the GI Bill with a Business Administration Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston, Texas. Paul retired 38 years ago from Gulf Oil’s package and grease department.

Paul was an avid golfer, only giving up the game about a year ago as well as a fisherman and duck hunter in earlier years. His second home on Toledo Bends waterfront was not only a personal retreat for him and Aline, but a place for many family gathering and memories. He loved to go gambling at the Casino, although he wasn’t much of a winner, and recently had a visit there only 3 weeks ago. He and Aline’s love of playing bridge created many friendships old and new. Paul lived life to the fullest and was in good health until only recently declining because of a fall. His amazing stories, contagious happiness and love for life will be missed but will forever live on through his loved ones. May he rest in peace.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 10 AM at the funeral home, celebrant will be Rev. J. C. Coon. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors by Southeast Texas Veteran’s Service Group.
