The area level judging was held June 19 at the Woodlands High School, where both bands placed high enough to advance. The state level listening session is held in conjunction with the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention in San Antonio on July 25.

Both the Central Middle School Symphonic Band and Nederland High School Honors Band will be one of only 16 schools in their respective classifications at the state level representing eight different areas for a chance to be named the 2019 Texas State Honor Band.
