Malva Hill

Malva Hill, a native and resident of Port Arthur answered the call of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday June 19, 2019, in Beaumont Texas. Malva was born on March 8, 1932 to the late Charlie and Beulah Harris. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School and was a proud graduate of the class of 1950.  She went on to attend Prairie View A&M University.  November 12, 1952, she married the love of her life, Rev. George Hill Sr. and was devoted to him for 57 years. To this sacred union seven children were born. Malva was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and confidant. She gave willingly of her time as the matriarch of First Baptist Church of Sabine Pass, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. George Hill Sr., three sisters, and seven brothers.

Survivors include seven children, Wilma Bell, George Jr, Bruce, Efrem (Terina), Sharon, Gregory, Floyd Hill all of Port Arthur; siblings Anna McCray, Arthamous and Charlie Harris; 28 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 549 W. Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Sabine Pass Cemetery.
