PORT NECHES — A 19-year-old Groves man is dead after a motorcycle crash Wednesday night.

The deceased is identified as Nicolas Keith Lockwood, according to a news release from Port Neches Police Department.

The crash happened around 8:41 p.m. in the 700 block of FM 366, Port Neches.

Witnesses told police the motorcycle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and hit the curb ejecting him onto a grassy area next to the highway.

He was brought to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he later died.

The accident remains under investigation.
