Problems on the par 3s Friday sabotaged any chance Andrew Landry had to shoot the sizzling round necessary to make the cut in Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Classic at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.

Needing a 67 to make the projected one-over-par cut, Landry played the par 3s in four over. He was able to post a respectable 73, thanks to making birdies on three of the final four holes. But his 151 was well down among the also rans.

Landry, playing the back nine first, started his day with a birdie from four feet at the par 5, 11th and added another from 16 inches on the par 4, 14th. But he turned in one over thanks to bogeys at the par 3, 12th, the par 3, 16th and the par 4, 18th.

His round went down the drain with a double bogey 5 on the par 3, 4th and a bogey from the water at the par 5, 5th. His closing birdies came from 39 feet on the par 4, 7th, 3 feet on the par 5, 7th and 5-4 on the par 4, 9th.
It was Landry’s second consecutive missed cut and eight in 16 individual events where there was a 36-hole cut.
