A Beaumont woman was charged with arson after a Facebook Messenger exchange led to her arrest.

A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Tiffany Spikes, Wednesday, for setting her husbands vehicle on fire in November.

According to the indictment, a Beaumont Police Department officer found a 1980 flatbed work truck in a field on Joachimi Street.

Police found out the truck belong to Curtis L. Jackson, who said he was married to Spikes but was separated at the time. According to the indictment, the couple had numerous calls for police service in the past.

At the scene, police found a phone that Jackson identified as belonging to Spikes for which he paid the bill.

After a search warrant was executed on the phone, police found a Facebook Messenger application that was used the night of the fire.

 

Spikes: “Lol T I’m sitting here scared, girl… I just burned my husband truck down. Laws everywhere.

 

Spikes was charged with arson, which is a second degree felony. Spikes is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
