Chris Stroud continued to make lots of birdies in the final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge Sunday at Colonial Country Club. Unfortunately, he also continued to make lots of bogeys.

Stroud accounted for four of each on the way to an even par 70 that left him at three-over 283 for the week. That followed a Saturday rollercoaster ride that saw him make five birdies and six bogeys.
The PNG ex had opened the tournament with a triple bogey 7 on his first hole, then played the final 71 in even par.

Kevin Na closed with a 66 to win by four strokes with a 13-under-par 267.

Stroud, who had to make a 32-foot birdie putt on the 36th hole to survive the cut, moved up eight places on Sunday to finish tied for 48th. FedEx cup projections, however, are that he will drop five places from 94th to 99th.

Stroud started his final round with a birdie 4, after nearly chipping in for eagle, then played the next 10 holes in three over. A 49-foot birdie bomb on 13 and another birdie from 14-10 on 15 got him back to even. Thanks to a bogey at 16, he needed to roll in a 14-foot birdie on 18 for his 70.

Most impressive stat of the week for Stroud was finishing second in putts per greens in regulation. That reflected in the fact he made 15 birdies, which was tied for ninth in the field.

Stroud will be off this week, then return to action the first week of June in the Canadian Open. Earlier that week he will play in a 36-hole U.S. Open qualifier in Canada.
