Beaumont police this weekend are investigating a auto-pedestrian collision that took the life of a man rising a bicycle.

In an issued statement, police said a vehicle was traveling southbound in the left lane of the 3700 block of West Cardinal Lane around 10:30 p.m. Friday when a bicycle ridden by Darrell Henderson, 44, entered the roadway and the vehicle and bicycle collided.

Beaumont EMS pronounced Henderson dead at the scene.

The investigation was continuing, police said.
