4–7 inches of rainfall expected across region

From the National Weather Service in Lake Charles:

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch for parts of east Texas and west central Louisiana until 11 p.m. tonight. Watch for weather warnings on a line of storms that extends from Shreveport down to College Station. This line is moving east. This activity is not expecting to reach as far south as the I-10 corridor of southwest Texas or southwest and south central Louisiana.

There could be isolated severe storms on Thursday and Friday in our entire forecast region.

In addition, a heavy rain threat is expected in our region Friday and Saturday. We are forecasting a widespread area of 4 to 7 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. The highest threat area will extend across southeast Texas, and southwest and central Louisiana. Expect to see street flooding during periods of heavy rains. For south central Louisiana, we are expecting 1 to 3 inches of rain.
