The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accidental shooting that happened near Nome on Tuesday.

Deputies responded around 2:50 p.m. to the shooting at G and A Turf Farm located at 5047 FM 1009.

The male victim was alert and speaking to deputies when EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators will interview all parties involved. The investigation continues and no names will be released at this time, according to a press release on JSCO’s Facebook page.
