PORT NECHES — Port Neches-Groves Independent School District Trustee Mark Holmes is set to submit his resignation to district officials later this week.

The board will consider accepting his resignation during a called meeting at 1 p.m. at the administration building conference room, 620 Ave. C, Port Neches.

The board will go into closed session to discuss potential candidate(s) to fill the board vacancy. They are scheduled to vote on a recommendation to fill the Place 4 vacancy through November 2019.

Holmes has been a trustee since 2016.
