BEAUMONT — Two men that police said were traveling slowly without lights were found with an AR rifle, a mask and drugs late Tuesday.

Two Beaumont police officers were on patrol around 10:30 p.m. near Delaware and Eastex Freeway when they reportedly saw the vehicle so they made a traffic stop. That’s when, according to a press release from Beaumont Police Department, they saw an AR rifle resting between the driver and front passenger.

During the stop, promethazine, marijuana and a mask was located inside of the vehicle and the two occupants were placed under arrest.

Javonte Rhodes, 19, and Isaiah Brewer, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana and Brewer is also charged with possession of a dangerous drug.
