GOLF: Lamar women finish fourth in Southland

Lamar’s women’s golf team finished fourth in the Southland Conference tournament at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club in Magnolia on Wednesday.

Elodie Chapelet shot under or at par for the 11th round this season, firing a final-round 69 to finish in a seventh-place tie with a 5-over 221 (79-73-69). Laura Pasalodos-Barcelo was tied for 15th with a 226 (70-79-77), Eva Martinez tied for 18th at 227 (77-75-75), Brooke Duzan tied for 26th (76-77-80) and Carson Racich tied for 29th at 235 (81-82-72).

Sam Houston State (880) won the team title, with Kenlie Barrett from the Bearkats taking medalist honors. Central Arkansas (882), Houston Baptist (884) and Lamar (899) rounded out the top four.
