Arnold Lanier Jones

Arnold Lanier Jones, 69, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on July 30, 1949 to his parents, Jack Arnold Jones and Elise Lanier Wallace Jones in Port Arthur, Texas. Arnold graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was proud to call Southeast Texas his home. Arnold served in the Army National Guard. He retired from Entergy as a lineman with 46 years of service and was a member of IBEW Local #2286. Arnold was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as golf.

He  was preceded in death by his parents.

Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Thibodeaux Jones of Port Arthur, his daughter, Jennifer Norman and husband, Bill of Mineral Wells, Texas, his three sons, Jeremy Jones and wife,  Holly of Groves, Jason Smith of Nederland, James Smith of Houston, his three grandchildren, Haiden Norman, Jayden Jones and Kayli Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Holubeck and husband, Ed of Groves, his nephew, Brady Holubeck, niece, Ashley Brewer and great nephew, Kingston Brewer.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Arnold’s life will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Dr. Rick Erwin, officiating. Burial with Military honors will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
