You can dress the 3 Redneck Tenors up, but you can’t make ‘em formal.

They wouldn’t let that happen.

The Dallas-based performers will provide the entertainment at this year’s 16th Annual Gulf Coast Gala at Lamar State College Port Arthur. The benefit event is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 27 at the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center.

“This effort is an annual event used as a fund raiser as well as to offer quality-of-life events in our community,” said Dr. Sam Monroe, president of the Port Arthur Higher Education Foundation and of the Museum of the Gulf Coast.

“When you look at the ticket price you should consider the scholarships for helping young people and the young people who are touched through the message of the successful area people who are in The Museum of the Gulf Coast.”

“The Gulf Coast Gala is always a great night of entertainment each spring but to have a fun and unique group like the 3 Redneck Tenors is particularly exciting,” Dr. Betty Reynard, LSCPA president, said. “Those in attendance are in for a great night of laughter and world-class music.”

The event — black tie or business attire is recommended — includes dinner and entertainment and benefits LSCPA and the Museum of the Gulf Coast.

Levels of sponsorship include benefactor tables for $10,000; grand patron tables for $5,000; patron tables for $2,500; and Friend, $1,200. Individual tickets cost $150.

The Redneck Tenors have toured since 2005 and for years were a mainstay at the Andy Williams Theater in Branson, Missouri. They have appeared on Larry the Cable Guy’s “Only in America” show on The History Channel and have plaed at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, The Majestic Theater in Dallas, The Friars Club in New York City, the Improv of Los Angeles and Pittsburgh and with the Cleveland Pops at Severance Hall.

Internationally, they’ve played in Buenos Aires, Reykjavik, Santiago and Halifax.

Individually, Matthew Lord, Blake Davidson and Jonathan Fruge have played in opera houses and on stage at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Tokyo Opera House and at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
