Port Arthur Police on Monday were investigating a Sunday night shooting that wounded a local man.

Police responded to a call at St. Mary’s Emergency Room at 10:30 p.m. Sunday. There, they found a victim, described only as a 19-year-old Hispanic male, with a gunshot wound to his hand.

Police said the shooting occurred at Louis Manor Apartment Complex, 1300 Joe Louis Ave.

The Criminal Investigations Division was working the case.
