Beaumont police Friday were seeking a male suspect in an aggravated robbery at Dillard’s department store.

In an issued statement, police said they responded to an 8:25 p.m. Thursday call at the store, located at 5955 Eastex Freeway.

Employees said a lone suspect, described only as a black male, used scissors to cut the security cable around a handbag display. When an employee approached, police said, the suspect threatened the employee with the scissors and fled with handbags to a silver Acura parked outside.
