BASEBALL: Bulldogs blank Pirates for sweep

Conner Kemp tossed five strikeouts in a complete game, and Landon Hiltz knocked two hits to lead Nederland to a 5-0 win over Vidor and a District 21-5A weekly sweep.

Nederland won Tuesday’s game 6-3 in Vidor.

Hiltz went 2 for 4 with a run batted in, stolen base and run scored. Adam Roccaforte pushed across two runs, as Wade Butler and Corbin Chandler each recorded an RBI.

Kamden Grant, Brian Davila, Chandler and Roccaforte also had hits for the Bulldogs (6-7-2), who have won three in a row and will take on archrival Port Neches-Groves at 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Reservation.
