Dark clouds was due to flaring at Huntsman O & O

- Flaring was seen at Huntsman O&O Monday afternoon. The dark smoke died down quickly.
Huntsman O and O Port Neches facility’s operations required flaring early Monday afternoon, according to Southeast Texas Alerting Network. Flares are safety devices that allow the company to safely burn excess gasses.
The large flame and dark smoke — which died down quickly — caused some locals to look to the skies and take to Facebook wondering what was going on.
According to STAN, no action was needed.
