free seminars

Conrad Cooper, business consultant, will be the featured speaker for free seminars on “Starting Your Own Business.”

The sessions will be held at the Small Business Development Center, Lamar State College Port Arthur, 1401 Procter St. Registration is required.

Sessions are scheduled for the following times and days:

  • 5:30-8:30 p.m., March 12
  • 9-noon March 26

Health Department:

Flu shots Tuesday

The city of Port Arthur Health Department will offer an evening flu clinic for children 6 months old to 18 years old from 5-7 p.m. March 5 at 449 Austin Ave.

The flu vaccine is also available free from 8-5 Monday through Friday for children ages 6 months to 18 years old.

The clinic is for the uninsured, underinsured and Medicaid patients.

Stress, health topic

at Hebert Library

Hebert Public Library, 2025 Merriman, Port Neches will host “Stress Less: Mind Matters” at 1 p.m. Monday.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office will present

about how unmanaged and prolonged stress can lead to poor health. Becoming aware of stress-related changes is important to prevent illness and long-term health problems.
