MEN’S BASKETBALL: Garth’s 28 carries Cards to sixth straight win

Nick Garth nailed 7 of 10 three-point attempts and finished with a game-high 28 points and seven assists as Lamar beat Houston Baptist 110-75 on Wednesday night.

The win is the sixth straight for the Cardinals (17-12, 10-6 Southland), who are fifth in the conference. Only league-leading Sam Houston State has won more than one game on current streaks in the Southland.

Davion Buster continued his breakout season with 20 points, shooting 8 of 11 from the floor. Jordan Hunter totaled 18 points and seven assists, Christian Barrett 11 points and 13 rebounds and Edwin Jeudy 10 points for the Cards.
