PAFD responds to residential fire

Port Arthur Fire Department responded to call of a residential fire at 2424 El Paso St. at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
When the firefighters arrived the back part of the residential area was engulfed in smoke. As many as 10 emergency vehicles responded to the call and three fire trucks were active on the scene.
First responders said there were no injuries and the property owner was not present at the time of the fire. Port Arthur Animal Control was called to the scene to address a large dog that was chained in the driveway. There was a smaller puppy in a cage in the driveway as well.
