Roberts, originally from Port Arthur, held a sign mocking ESPN “First Take” co-host Max Kellerman as the “Haterade Player of the Year”. In the photo, an image of a clown nose appears to be superimposed on Kellerman’s nose.

NESN.com captured a screenshot of Roberts’ holding the sign.

On a Jan. 14 edition of “First Take,” Kellerman defended earlier comments he made about quarterback Tom Brady, 41, “falling off the cliff” after New England beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC division round.

“Tom Brady was excellent, of course,” Kellerman said in video captured by the show that was tweeted. “He didn’t do anything wrong. But a lot of guys could have thrown to receivers who … every receiver was open by, like, 10 yards. He threw it to zero tight windows. He faced zero pressure. Tom Brady was dead last against the blitz this year. He was awful against the blitz. …”

In Super Bowl 53, Brady completed 21 of 35 passes for 262 yards and an interception. Julian Edelman caught 10 passes for 141 yards and was named MVP.

Brady is the oldest quarterback to win the Super Bowl and said after the game he does not intend to retire.

Roberts has played in the Super Bowl in each of his three NFL seasons, winning two.
