VOLLEYBALL: PNG’s Gil, H-F’s Frazier earn all-state distinction

Two-time district MVP Kaitlyn Gil of Port Neches-Groves was named third-team all-state outside hitter and Hamshire-Fannett’s Lexi Frazier honorable mention middle blocker by the Texas Sports Writers Association.

The TSWA officially released the list Saturday.

Gil guided PNG to a 33-7 record and a fourth straight trip to the area round in the 5A playoffs. She finished the season with 570 kills, 32 blocks, 330 digs and 46 service aces.

She signed with Lamar last month.

Frazier helped Hamshire-Fannett win the District 22-4A championship and reach the Region III quarterfinals.
