PORT NECHES — Lance Bradley is set for another go-around as president of the Port Neches Chamber of Commerce.
Bradley, who will continue his presidency for a second consecutive term, sees a bright future ahead for the city and its business members.
He will resume his presidency during the Port Neches Chamber of Commerce 78th Annual Banquet on Monday night at the Neches River Wheelhouse.
“Obviously, everybody is excited about the potential for development along the riverfront and in the downtown area,” Bradley said when asked of what’s in store for the chamber and city in the upcoming year.
With development comes more traffic and visitors to the city and more businesses.
Bradley is also excited at the growth of the Port Neches Riverfest, which occurs annually in the spring. And while Riverfest has its own committee, the chamber is involved.
Growing the chamber membership is often a goal with incoming presidents and for Bradley this is no different. He plans to continue to reach out to existing businesses that may not be members as well as work with the current membership on their needs.
Debbie Plaia, executive director of the chamber, said this year’s theme is “sailing into 2019.”
“We are excited for him to continue to steer the chamber into 2019,” Plaia said. “He’s already prepared for this and has already done a great job. The chamber is excited to have him continue to guide us in into 2019.”
Plaia said Bradley is a behind-the-scenes kind of leader who is there keeping the group on track. He was also there when the chamber lost two “icons” — Nan Gregg and Judge Morris McCall. Bradley, she said, made the loss more than bearable.
“Lance is very professional, very organized, a strong, level-headed person who is very much a team player who has guided us,” she said.
Bradley gave a nod to his fellow chamber members and board, saying it’s great when everyone is on the same team.
And having a great board and director makes the job easy, he said.
