The affidavit said Toussaint and the second suspect fled the robbery in a vehicle that belonged to one of the victims. Beaumont police sighted the vehicle, and the suspect driver attempted to flee in it, then abandoned the vehicle and both suspects fled on foot. An officer said he saw Toussaint discard the weapon while fleeing.

The affidavit said Toussaint had been convicted of possession of cocaine Aug. 7, and was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Toussaint was held at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on a total bond of $226,000 on Wednesday.
