Person of interest arrested in Dallas on Cole shooting

A person of interest in Sunday’s shooting death of Sharonn Laroyce Cole is in custody in Dallas on unrelated charges.

An investigator with the Port Arthur Police Department traveled to Dallas and was speaking with the person of interest as of Thursday afternoon.

Cole, 41, whose last known address was in Beaumont, was found in the 400 block of Fort Worth Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Dec. 2.

He had been shot multiple times and was transported to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

The person of interest was identified though numerous Crime Stoppers tips and though several calls to the police department.

This marked the 14th homicide in the city this year, 10 of which have been cleared with an arrest.
