Cecil Gerald Harper, 76, of Hemphill, TX, died, Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in Hemphill. A native of Port Neches, he attended Port Neches and served his country in the United States Army and the United States Army National Guard. He retired from the Louisiana State Prison System. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Milan, TX.

Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Harper in 1998. His Survivors include two sons, Marvin Earl Harper and Benjamin Gerald Harper; three step daughters, Shelia Hurst Thompson, Barbara Hurst, Faulk, and Lisa Hurst Balsana; one brother, Donald (Beverly) Harper of Nederland. He, also, leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great children along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00AM at the New Hope Baptist Church in Milam where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Memory Gardens in Nederland.
