BASKETBALL: Big fourth quarter separates Lancaster from Memorial

A week after knocking off two-time 4A champion Silsbee, 5A champion Memorial went cold in the fourth quarter as second-ranked Lancaster outscored the Titans 17-2 to take a 63-43 victory at Houston’s Episcopal High School on Friday.

Memorial (2-2) trailed 46-41 through three periods but shot 1 for 12 from the field in the final 8 minutes.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. scored 16 points, Steve Wilson had 10 and Nate Clover added seven for the Titans, who play at Beaumont United on Tuesday and head to the Clear Creek tournament starting Thursday.
