Justice of the Peace Mike Smith pronounced Dennis dead at the scene.

The driver of the commercial motor vehicle, a 61-year-old male from Jasper, did not sustain any visible injuries, DPS said.

Northbound traffic lanes were closed but traffic moved as Troopers moved the center median to allow vehicles to move forward.

All information was preliminary, and Troopers continued to investigate.
