PA bust yields 12.8 pounds of synthetic pot; 3 arrested

Three suspects were charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, Friday afternoon following a raid at a 2147 Wignall.

Arrested were:

  • Gabriel Wilson Taylor, 35
  • Christopher Dewayne Reed, 26
  • Kenneth James Keller, 34

Police said that SWAT and narcotics officers with the Port Arthur police, assisted by state Department of Public Safety and Jefferson County investigators, executed a search warrant at the Wignall address at 12:45 p.m. and recovered about 12.8 pounds of synthetic marijuana, other narcotics and a firearm.

Two vehicles were also seized.

Police said in an issued statement that the suspects were preparing to package the synthetic marijuana into colorful containers that appeal to younger buyers. The below listed suspects were taken into custody and charged.

The suspects are taken to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility for booking. Police said narcotics investigators will present this case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office and will also brief the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency on the arrests.

The suspects were booked at the jail at 5:46 p.m. No bond was set.
