Colton Weisbrod’s stay in the NBA G League lasted one preseason game.

The former Nederland, Lamar State College Port Arthur and Lamar University standout was released by the South Bay Lakers two days after Weisbrod scored two points in a preseason victory over the Northern Arizona Suns. Weisbrod shot 1 for 2 from the floor and totaled three rebounds and an assist in 13 minutes of action during a 118-89 win.

“… [M]y time in LA has come to an end,” Weisbrod tweeted. “Not the outcome I wanted, but it’s only the beginning. First piece of adversity I’ve hit in my new pro journey. I’ll bounce back [prayer and ‘100’ icons]”

South Bay, a direct affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers, drafted Weisbrod a week earlier.
