The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday was investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash Sunday night on IH-10 involving a motorcycle and a dump truck.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates the crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m., and involved two vehicles. One fatality was confirmed, DPS said in an issued statement Monday morning.

DPS said that a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling east on the Neches River Bridge, struck a 2004 Sterling dump truck from behind.

The motorcycle driver — his ID was withheld, pending notification of next of kin — was pronounced dead at the scene.

Marty Wilson, 49, of Beaumont, was the driver of the dump truck and was not injured.
