TEAM TENNIS: Nederland halted in 5A regionals again
One more round, and Nederland would have reached its highest round in its team tennis history.
Instead, Friendswood was dominant in doubles play and went on to a 10-2 win over Nederland on Tuesday in a UIL 5A Region III quarterfinal match at Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu. Nederland hasn’t reached the regional quarterfinals since 1993.
Brandon Do earned a win for Nederland in the boys singles, beating Race Haas 6-0, 4-0 (default). Han Vo and Megan Do of Nederland teamed to up to win a girls doubles contest over Friendswood’s Gonzalez and McElwain 7-5, 6-2.
