Wreck closes westbound I-10 lanes
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County around 6:15 a.m. Friday that closed westbound lanes. All lanes were open by 9:30 a.m., DPS said.
The crash occurred near mile marker 877 and involved a Kenwood truck trailer semi-trailer, a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet Trailblazer. DPS said the Toyota Camry and a Kenwood truck tractor semi-trailer were traveling westbound on Interstate 10 followed by a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The driver of the Toyota and the driver of the 18-wheeler slowed, due to traffic congestion, when both vehicles were rear-ended by the Chevrolet. Upon impact, both passenger vehicles caught fire and were fully engulfed when local fire departments arrived.
All or some westbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10, near mile marker 877, were closed for some three hours after the wreck. There were no injuries.
