Robert Lavon Byrd, 63, of Port Arthur passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at home with his wife by his side.  He was a 1974 graduate of R.H. Watkins High School, Laurel, Mississippi.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents Erma Jean Byrd-Martin and Robert Collins of Laurel, Mississippi.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Harris-Byrd; one daughter Sharonda Harris; two sons, Zeffon Alexander and Reginald Harris; mother-in-law, Mary E. Smith all of Port Arthur, TX; nine grandchildren; four sisters; one brother, five brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law; one godchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
