A Port Arthur man is charged with burglary of a habitation after he reportedly forced his way into a home and assaulted a person.

Police did not release the name of the 43-year-old man.

Officers were called to the 3400 block of 42^nd Street at about 1:36 a.m. Monday in response to a burglary in progress, according to a news release from Port Arthur Police Department.
