Lamar freshman Sandra Nygard was named the Southland Conference goalkeeper of the week following wins over Central Arkansas and Northwestern State.

Nygard, of Sola, Norway, faced 27 shots in a 3-1 win over UCA and two days later recorded a 1-0 win over Northwestern State with 11 saves.

Three other Lamar athletes received honorable mention for weekly soccer awards: Rubi Villegas (offense) and Amelia Fullmer (defense). Emma Roccaforte of McNeese State, from Nederland, earned honorable mention for the goalkeeper award.
