A man dressed as a construction worker wasn’t in search of pastries when he apparently robbed not one but two Port Arthur doughnut shops early Tuesday morning.

Instead of kolaches he left with cash registers.

The first robbery call came in at 6:09 a.m. at Master Donuts, 7765 Ninth Ave., Port Arthur Police Lt. Troy Lebouef said.

The second call came in at 7:04 a.m. at Southern Maid Donuts, 2446 Memorial Blvd., where a similarly described suspect stole the cash register as well.

Police believe the two incidents are related and do have a person of interest.
