James “Fredy” Franke

James “Fredy” Franke, 79, of Center, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in Port Arthur with his daughters by his side.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Clever Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Clever Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Franke was born March 23, 1939, in Shelby County, to Alfred Franke Jr. and Ruth Bounds Franke. He served in the United States Army and worked as an operator at Texaco Refinery in Port Neches. His hobbies included being outdoors, spending time with his grandkids and playing dominos with friends. Fredy was a loving Christian husband and father and raised his children to have strong Christian faith.

He is survived by daughters, Cindy Hauver and husband Dowd of Vidor, Amanda Eaves and husband David of Seabrook; grandchildren, Brandon Hauver and wife Lauren of Aurora, Colorado, Pierce Hauver of College Station, Erik Hauver of Vidor, Sara Eaves of Seabrook, Thomas Eaves of Seabrook; great granddaughter, Emerson Elaine Hauver; brother, Donald Franke and wife Barbara of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister, Doretta Watson of Beaumont.

Preceded in death by wife, Mary Elaine Sigler Franke; parents, Alfred Franke Jr. and Ruth Bounds Franke.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
