Mrs. Helen Marie Jefferson was born April 13, 1943 in Apalachicola, Florida to the late Alphonso and Helen Britt. She was married to the late Homer Jefferson.   Helen retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District in 2006.

She was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church and most recently Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends.

Left to cherish her precious memory is her five daughters Bridget (Albert) Frank, Charmaine (Ronald) Johnson, Stacy (Tommy) Martin of Port Arthur, TX, Lahoma (Carey) Napper of Hoover, AL, and Kim Jefferson of Upper Marlboro, MD. Her seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Jerriel Ford of Forestville, MD, Carolyn Gray, Sandra Holmes, and Penny Polk of Port Arthur, TX.  Special friends include Ruthie Arceneaux, Veronica Martin-Scypion, Carolyn Hilstock, Ruben Infante, and Jasline Sebile; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Sampson Etim officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00 A.M. and rosaries will begin at 9:30 A.M. Funeral services will be provided by Gabriel Funeral Home, Inc. The interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
