Man in critical following Gulfway Drive stabbing

A 37-year-old Port Arthur man is in critical but stable condition following a stabbing on Friday.

The suspect, a 54-year-old man, was located and taken into custody without incident and charged with aggravated assault, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Police were called to 3740 Gulfway Drive around 11:52 a.m. in reference to a stabbing. Officers learned that two people had been involved in an altercation and one stabbed the other.

The victim was transported to St. Mary Hospital then later transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital due to his condition.
