Mrs. Norma Jane Fontenot of Port Arthur died Thursday August 2 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. As a native of Crowley, Louisiana, Norma moved and became a resident of Port Arthur for 79 years.

A visitation is scheduled from 8 a.m. unitil 10 a.m. with Rosary reciting beginning at 9:30 a.m. following the funeral service for 10 a.m. on Saturday August 11. The service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Sampson Etim, MSP officiating along with the procession of burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

Her love and memories will remain in the hearts of her four sons Normand (Jacqueline), Jonathan (Rochelle), Jerrold and Terrold Fontenot of Port Arthur, TX; her two daughters Alozia Vaughns of Beaumont, TX and Sandra (Cricket) Fontenot (Alfred) of Port Arthur, TX; one sister Nellie Battin of Beaumont, TX; one brother William (Margie) Gobart of Fort Walton Beach, FL, two aunts Mary Lee McZeal of Port Arthur, TX and Helen Burditt of Houston, TX; one brother-in-law Ronald (Sandra) Fontenette and three sisters-in-law Rose Fontenette and RoseAnne Thibodeaux both of Breaux Bridge, LA and Georgette Fontenette of Philadelphia, PA. She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents Jeanette Gobart and Willard Lambert, her husband Wilfred Fontenot, child Joseph, sister Shirley Lambert, aunts Beatrice Tadifa and Francis Gobar, uncles Joseph, John, William, and Anthony Gobart, grandchildren and other relatives.
