FOOTBALL: Networks set for Lamar games

Fox Sports Southwest will carry the Sept. 8 Lamar at Texas Tech football game, the Southland Conference announced Thursday.

The game, scheduled for a 3 p.m. kickoff, is one of eight Lamar games that have been designated for broadcast or webcast so far. ESPN networks will webcast the other seven, including the Sept. 15 home contest against Northwestern State (6 p.m.) that will be carried on ESPN+, the new direct-to-consumer streaming service.

The other six games will stream on ESPN3.com (WatchESPN): Sept. 1 at home vs. Kentucky Christian at 6 p.m., Sept. 22 at home vs. Southeastern Louisiana at 6, Oct. 13 at home vs. Incarnate Word at 3, Oct. 20 at home vs. Sam Houston State at 3, Oct. 27 at Stephen F. Austin at 3, and Nov. 10 at home vs. Houston Baptist at 3.
