Port Arthur Fire Department was working a large trash fire in the 3900 block of South Martin Luther King Boulevard on Pleasure Island for hours on Wednesday.

Officials with the fire department said the fire started with fiberglass around 2:30 p.m.

Firefighters were still battling the blaze as of 6:30 p.m.
