The PGA Tour has reached the weekend during the summer when two tournaments under its umbrella are held.

While Chris Stroud is trying to defend his Barracuda Championship from last year, Andrew Landry is making a big leap in the Bridgestone Invitational leaderboard.

Landry jumped 19 spots into a tie for 27th with three other golfers Friday in Akron, Ohio. Landry shot 3-under 67 and is 3 under for the tournament. On Thursday, the Groves native who now lives in Austin eagled a lengthy putt at the par-5 second hole.
