Staff report
A 25-year-old Vidor man sustained serious injuries early Thursday when his vehicle left the roadway on FM 105 near the Jasper-Orange county line and struck several trees.
The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers said Joshua Armstrong of Vidor was traveling southbound around 6:15 a.m. when he approached a curve, passed another vehicle and apparently lost control of his 2000 Ford Mustang, leaving the road after crossing 105. Troopers suggested he overcorrected his steering.
Armstrong was transported by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries, DPS said in an issued statement.
“All information is preliminary as Troopers work to determine the exact factors that contributed to this crash,” DPS said.
Motorists were urged to use caution while traveling in the area of the crash.
